Aimed for GCSE and A-Level students who are adapting their writing style to succeed against the national exam board.

I'm a second-year English Literature with Film Studies student at King's College London. I've always loved reading and writing, and what I enjoy most about English is helping other people find their own way into a text, whether that's a novel, a poem, or a play. I think the subject can feel intimidating when you're told there's a "right" reading you're supposed to guess, so my approach is to show students how to build an argument from evidence, trust their own responses, and express them clearly. I'm patient, approachable and well organised. I'm also a creative writer myself, in both prose and non-fiction, so I'm comfortable helping students develop their own voice as well as their analytical skills. Studying literature alongside film has trained me to think carefully about structure, character and how meaning is made, and I bring that to every lesson. My lessons are aimed at GCSE and A-level students who want to improve their essay technique, feel more confident analysing set texts, or sharpen their writing, as well as younger students who need support with grammar, reading comprehension and writing. I can help with anything from planning an essay and using quotations effectively, to revising for exams, to preparing a personal statement for anyone considering a creative subject at university. Each lesson is tailored to the student, so we focus on whatever will make the biggest difference for them, whether that's grades, confidence, or simply enjoying the subject more.
