Qualified English teacher with a Master’s degree in English Literature, offering tuition for both GCSE and A-Level students

My lessons are structured and positive, so students feel comfortable while still making clear progress. I tailor sessions to each student’s goals—whether that’s securing a pass or aiming for top grades at GCSE or A-Level.

We focus on breaking down texts and exam questions, understanding exactly what examiners are looking for, and practising how to write clear, thoughtful responses. I model strong answers, work through ideas together, and give detailed, practical feedback so students know how to improve. Over time, the aim is to build confidence, independence, and more sophisticated analysis.

Subject Expertise

I have strong knowledge and experience of the GCSE curriculum (AQA and Edexcel), having taught Shakespeare, 19th-century literature, modern texts, poetry, and the English Language papers.

My academic background (English BA and Master’s) also allows me to support A-Level students with more advanced analysis, interpretation, and essay writing.

Experience

I’ve spent three years teaching English in a secondary school, working with students of all abilities. I have a strong track record of helping students meet and exceed their target grades, including achieving top GCSE results and progressing confidently to A-Level.
