Advert description
Arabic is my native language and I also speak English at a native level. I have previous experience teaching Arabic at an Arabic learning centre on Edgware Road in London, where I worked with learners with different levels and needs. This experience gave me a real understanding of how differently people learn and how important it is to make students feel comfortable and supported.
I am naturally patient, friendly and approachable, and I enjoy communicating with people. I do not believe that learning a language should feel stressful or intimidating. Many people understand more than they realise but lack the confidence to speak. I like to create an environment where students can ask questions, make mistakes and practise without feeling embarrassed.
My professional background has also given me many years of experience dealing with people from different cultures and backgrounds. I have worked in customer service, VIP services, business support and international cargo, communicating with clients and service providers and often having to understand exactly what someone needs and explain things clearly. These skills are very useful when teaching because good teaching is not only about knowing the language—it is also about knowing how to communicate it to another person.
My teaching style is practical, flexible and personal. I do not believe that every student should be taught in exactly the same way. At the beginning, I like to understand why the student wants to learn Arabic, what they already know and what they would like to achieve. Someone learning Arabic for travel will have different needs from someone learning it for work, family or personal interest.
For complete beginners, I would start with useful everyday language, pronunciation, basic vocabulary and simple conversations, gradually building confidence and understanding. I would avoid overwhelming students with too much information at once and instead introduce the language step by step.
For students who already know some Arabic, I can concentrate more on conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, reading and writing, depending on what they want to improve. I particularly enjoy helping people become more confident speakers. Knowing grammar is useful, but being able to actually use the language naturally is what makes a real difference.
I also like lessons to feel relevant to real life. Rather than sim
