Recent English Literature Graduate who teaches KS1-2 English and Maths, 11+ and GCSE English Language and Literature.

Before meeting the student, I will ensure that I have a thorough knowledge of my pupil's exam board specification and mark scheme in order to help them secure the best grades possible. This will include wider reading around the specification, and establishing an excellent grasp on set texts. The identification of points of weakness is important and will be established in the first lesson via an informal chat and/or a test so I can prepare relevant material tailored to each student in a strategized manner. Each lesson will be paced depending on the individual ability of the student, ensuring that they understand the content entirely. This also helps to make sure each pupil gets the most out of their lessons as possible, working towards a shared goal. I will provide resources for my pupils, ensuring that they will have a thorough knowledge of the specification. Each student will have an online drive folder dedicated to them which will contain the lesson plans I have created, homework set (with feedback) and any tests completed. This will be shared with the parents and themselves on a bi-weekly basis to guarantee constant communication and progression grades-wise. If my student needs help on achieving a short-term goal such as homework/a research project, I am more than willing to change the lesson to fit that goal.
