Advert description
I previously worked in a secondary school, where I delivered Project X, an intervention which promoted improving students' reading age, writing ability, and general literacy skills. Running this extra-curricular activity required innovation and building rapport to ensure pupils felt motivated to attend sessions. I promoted positive conversations surrounding each student's goals and aspirations to ensure that the intervention was meaningful. I also ran a homework club weekly, which supported an array of subjects and promoted problem-solving skills to build confidence in breaking down tasks.
I am currently on a doctoral pathway in Sport and Exercise Psychology, which assisted my role as a teaching assistant during Physical Education, as I used my knowledge of barriers to participation to improve goal-setting and attainment. My psychological knowledge can be used flexibly to assist various subjects and topics, ranging from core subjects to professional development.
