I can coach you to write, speak, read and test more effectively

Advert description
I have a neutral accent and have been teaching mostly Korean, Arab and Persian students how to speak in conversations and also before groups in a neutral accent, with somewhat reduced tempo, and proper pronunciation.

I have privately taught PhD candidates, academic writing and editing, assisting them in re submitting rejected thesis documents and articles for publication in scholarly journals. Candidates were in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Meiji University in Tokyo, Japan.

I have also taught writing and language arts including grammar and debate to middle and high school students in Bangkok, Thailand.

I have taught in Duval County, Florida both middle school and high school but after that, most of my teaching has been abroad in Asia, including in Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam and Cambodia. I hold a teacher's license in Bangkok Thailand with the Ministry of Education and my Master's degree from Walden University was in the field of Education, with the focus on English Language Learners. [This is much more demanding than a TESOL Masters degree or Certificate] and has qualified me to receive offers to teach college courses in Thailand.

These days, I like to use news articles which the student will choose, read aloud and I will interrupt only if serious mistakes are made. Before the student starts reading, I pre-teach the vocabulary words, demonstrating proper pronunciation. During the discussion that follows the reading, I prefer that the student tackle all the discussion questions first, before I do; but the student can choose to assign questions to me, which I will answer in the normal native speaker speed and then one more time slowly, using less complex synonyms, re-stating the same or opposite position of the student or article. I will do this, if students ask me. Otherwise, I encourage the student attempt all the discussion questions first, and then I will correct and improve their answers, with feedback introducing models of my own; tailor made for the student, based on how the student approached the discussion questions. It's really up to the student's mood and how the student likes to study.

Another type of class I provide upon request; is to ask the student mock interview questions, that are usually asked during a job interview. The student does not need to be looking for an actual job, in order to practice being confronted with uncomfortable, psychologically probing, passive aggressive questions. Especiall
