I still remember the challenges I faced when I began playing saxophone at age 9. More than that though, I remember the magical feeling of improving, and opening up new paths to explore through my playing. Wherever you or you child are in your musical journey, I want to help you overcome any barriers you may be up against so you can really find the joy in your playing and reach your goals.
In the 15 years since I started playing sax, I've acquired a lot of valuable experience from different teachers and ensembles. My background is mostly in Jazz, but I climbed the ABRSM classical grades too, and spent a year studying a music course at Cardiff University. This means I'm confident teaching all genres of music, and I have a library of resources ready for almost anything. When it comes to deciding what we learn, I want you to take the lead, but I'm here to bring my expertise and input which will help you build upon your knowledge.
The most important qualities in a teacher for me have always been kindness, sympathy and passion. My only hope is to help you become a better player who loves their saxophone as much as I do. Let's make some music together!
