I am an experienced and enthusiastic online teacher who has vast experience of working with novices to experts.

I have managed a team of senior lecturers for the last 8 years at University, and led the curriculum remodelling for the BSc Adult and Mental Health Courses. I am an expert in developing and delivering materials which meet Quality Assurance Agency standards, University academic regulations and requirements and Nursing and Nursing and Midwifery requirements, for both traditional and apprentice students. I have vast experience in teaching and learning with our international students. Prior to 2021, much of this was on campus but since then I have moved to delivering and assessment online. I have taught large audiences of up to 220 nursing students online using an interactive delivery approach. All materials are delivered in an accessible format which meets the requirements of most learners but these are personalised if required. I have also delivered online to smaller groups and regularly facilitate one to ones to explore challenges in learning and develop action plans with students to maximise their potential for success. My sessions are engaging and informative and developed to ensure all level of learners are supported to achieve. By getting to know learners as individuals, I can ensure my teaching can be shaped to help their specific learning needs and I frequently refer to reasonable adjustments plans to ensure any documented needs are taken into account. At undergraduate level, students are adults and their teaching and learning needs to be adapted to this pedagogical approach by identifying how the learners may have prior experience or knowledge which shapes their understanding of the topics I deliver. Areas of subject expertise include: Teaching anatomy, physiology and application to nursing practice in all fields. Medication management including pharmacology for nurses and clinical calculations. Law, ethics and professional practice with an emphasis on reflection as a professional tool. Communication and basic counselling skills. Study and research skills for nurses. Assessment expertise includes using Inspera and Blackboard for online examinations and assessments using Turnitin and Pebblepad. I am also a subject expertise in nursing curriculum development, fitness to practice and simulated practice.
