Advert description
I’m a calm, SEN-aware English tutor with nearly a decade of experience working across schools in and around King’s Lynn. I specialise in supporting anxious, neurodivergent and often “switched-off” learners who’ve stopped believing they’re any good at English. My aim is to make reading, writing and exam work feel clearer, less overwhelming, and actually achievable.
I offer 1:1 online English lessons for primary, secondary and adult learners from securing the basics, through KS3 and GCSE, to Functional Skills and adults returning to study. Whether you’re working on spelling and sentence structure, building stronger paragraphs, tackling literature texts, or preparing for exams and re-sits, I’ll meet you where you are and build from there.
Lessons are usually 60 minutes. We start with a quick check-in and a short recap so you’re not thrown in at the deep end. I break tasks into small, manageable steps, model how to approach questions, and then guide you as you try it yourself. We’ll use examples, model answers, and real exam-style questions where relevant, but always at a pace that feels safe and doable. You’ll get specific, encouraging feedback so you know what you’re doing well and what we’ll focus on next.
I’m neurodivergent myself and currently studying Child Psychology and counselling, which shapes my trauma-aware, relational approach. I understand how anxiety, attention, motivation and past experiences of school can affect learning. You’ll never be shamed for “not knowing” something. Questions, pauses and going back over things are all part of how we work.
Whether you want to pass an exam, boost a grade, improve your day-to-day reading and writing, or simply feel less lost with English, I’ll help you build skills and confidence step by step. If this sounds like the kind of support you’re looking for, get in touch and we can arrange a free, no-pressure chat to see if we’re a good fit.
