Advert description
My BA in Counselling with Addiction has supported my passion for, first, becoming a better version of oneself and, second, providing resources to support others. I graduated with a first-class honour degree, completed over 600 hours of individual and group counselling. Currently I am a Pre-Accredited Member of the IACP and applied for my ACI Accreditation.
The title of my thesis was "A critical review of the development and implementation of the Public Health (Alcohol) Act 2018," which critically reviewed the Public Health (Alcohol) Act, 2018 and sought to answer the question of whether or not it could reduce alcohol consumption and alcohol-related injury in Ireland.
I am currently managing a transitional house in Limerick where I facilitate weekly aftercare, family support, and recovery group meetings in partnership with the community. Residents are assisted in all aspects of their recovery, leading to a smooth and promising reintegration into society and, most importantly, a sober and healthy existence. I conduct assessments for individuals seeking treatment admittance, as well as individual counselling and school-based seminars. In addition to collaborating with a number of organisations in the Midwestern region to assist those affected by addiction.
I have years of expertise in administration, volunteering, and organising sporting, educational, and charitable expeditions.
I worked as a vocational advisor, delivering presentations and providing students with advice on their university options.
In closing I will bring commitment, reliability and my experience to your organisation which was gained through overcoming adversities to pursue my dreams.
