Hi, I'm Yuqing — a native Mandarin Chinese speaker with a PhD from the University of Oxford. I grew up and studied in China before moving to the UK in 2019, so Mandarin is my first language and I use it naturally across all levels, from everyday conversation to formal and academic settings.
I teach Mandarin to all levels — complete beginners who want to learn basic conversation, intermediate learners building confidence, and advanced students preparing for HSK exams or needing academic Chinese for university or work.
My lessons are relaxed and practical. I focus on what you actually need — whether that's speaking confidently, improving your reading and writing, understanding Chinese culture, or passing an exam. I adapt to your pace and learning style, and I explain things clearly without making it feel overwhelming.
I also have a strong science and research background, so if you need Chinese for professional or academic purposes, I can help with that too.
