Helping to ease anxiety and develop confidence in ywriting

Many students feel very anxious when it comes to writing about what they have learnt. They may know a good deal about a topic, but feel lost when it comes to showing their understanding in an essay. At other times, they have not fully understood the topic, but have felt too embarrassed to tell the teacher or tutor. My approach can greatly ease the anxiety around these issues, and it encourages greater confidence.

Please note that I do not work in a conventional way, as I do not teach English in accordance with the national curriculum. Instead, my learners choose from a range of topics that interest them, and we look at the meanings within those topics. I help learners develop the confidence to discuss those meanings, and to speak and write about them with genuine understanding.
