I have previous experience working as a teaching assistant in primary schools. I also used to run a children’s club specifically for children with autism. I have 10 nieces and nephews, therefore I understand what children need to feel heard and supported and what techniques work best when teaching. I will start by laying out where they are confident in the subject and where they aren’t. I will cater to the specific needs of that child’s learning and identify how they learn best and incorporate that in my tutoring. I will always encourage reading in their spare time and help them select what reading material speaks to them. I want them above anything to enjoy the learning experience. Anything the child needs help with, within the subject will be broken down to it’s rawest form and explained from its core, until they grasp the fundamentals of it and then expand piece by piece, until they have complete understanding whilst their confidence and knowledge grows.
