Previous tutor with 1 year’s experience at Explore Learning, offering tailored English lessons for younger children up to GCSE

My teaching approach is completely tailored to each individual student, as I understand that everyone learns differently. I begin each lesson with a short retrieval quiz to recap previous topics and make sure the student remembers and understands what they have learned. We then work through new content together before completing individual tasks that encourage the student to think independently and apply their knowledge. I adapt my lessons depending on what works best for each student, whether that is visual resources, discussions, examples or practical activities. I create a friendly and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions without worrying about getting something wrong. At the end of each lesson, we recap what we have covered and check that everything is fully understood. Having experience teaching a variety of students with different abilities at Explore Learning, I know how important it is to make lessons enjoyable and engaging. I aim to make learning fun while helping students build confidence and develop skills they can use independently.
