SQA Biology Tutoring with Personalised Support for Success. (National 5, Higher & Advanced Higher)

Advert description
👩🏻‍🔬About Me: I am a recent postgraduate with a Master’s of Research in Biodiversity Conservation. My specialist subjects include animal and environmental science, molecular biology, experimental design, and data analysis. My tutoring not only helps students understand the curriculum but also encourages critical thinking and insights into the world of scientific research. 📚My Teaching Style: My teaching style is student-centred, supportive and adaptable. I believe there is no one style-fits-all approach to learning, so I tailor each lessons to individuals needs. Whether that’s breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps, using visual aids or linking topics to real-world examples. As a visual learner myself, I value clear explanations and paced learning, aiming to make lessons engaging, accessible and effective for all learners. ✍️What to Expect in a Lesson: I am very familiar with the content required to achieve an SQA Biology qualification at National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher levels, and my tutoring is designed to help student build confidence and work towards achieving their best possible grade. Each lesson begins with a short recap of previous learning and what has been covered in class. I then introduce new material in a clear and structured way, using applied examples to make concepts easier to understand. Importantly, I create an open and encouraging space where students feel comfortable pointing out what they don’t yet understand. This ensures we can address gaps in knowledge straight away and turn challenges into progress. Finally, student have the chance to apply their learning through practice questions or discussions, helping them strengthen their understanding and develop effective exam technique. 💡Why I Tutor: Although I am new to formal tutoring, my academic experience presenting at multiple national and international conferences has strengthened my ability to explain complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences. I have also volunteered extensively with young people, engaging them in science in creative ways. Tutoring is especially rewarding for me because it combines my passion for biology with a genuine desire to support students in achieving their goals. Seeing student grow in both knowledge, curiosity and self-belief is what motivates me.
