Advert description
I have recently completed a PhD in Immunology at the University of Glasgow, following my undergraduate degree in Biology. As a tutor I aim to help students engage with Biology and perform to the best of their ability in exams, offering personalised approaches to learning.
Alongside my PhD research, I worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, supporting undergraduate and Master’s-level teaching across molecular biology, immunology and microbiology. I bring a patient, supportive and encouraging approach to tutoring. I aim to create a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and working through problems.
My academic background allows me to bring real-world examples and current scientific knowledge into Biology, helping students understand the relevance of what they are learning beyond exam content. Additionally, throughout my PhD I have gained insight into the University experience and, through interaction with sales representatives and biotech companies, an understanding of industry pathways. I believe this will allow me to offer informed advice to young people considering careers in biological sciences, if they have questions or are interested.
