I have previous experience of teaching swimming to kids. Thus, I have experience coming up with lesson plans and having to adapt those accordingly and think on my feet. I have experience applying to University and carrying out many tests for getting into University. Thus, I can relate to what a difficult and stressful time it is and hope that I can help make it a little bit easier by helping you succeed on the TOEFL.
I like to use a format that you and I can build together. So, I will ask for feedback from yourself on what you enjoy in our lessons and what you don’t. Then we can build them together from there.
However, the standard format will be as follows -
- Asking you for topics you would like to cover in the session
- Covering those topics and any core competencies required for the TOEFL through practice questions and examples
- Answering any questions you have about things covered
- Setting a plan for what to cover prior to next session and recapping this session
I’m terms of the dynamic for the session, I want you to feel as comfortable as possible and open to ask any question. There are no dumb questions! I want it to be a team effort and that we work together on all things you want to cover. As someone who has had tutoring before I know it can be daunting, but I hope that once you meet me that goes away and it is a comfortable learning environment for you!
