Advert description
I’m motivated to tutor because I enjoy helping students understand biology rather than just
memorise it. Having seen how others found school challenging, I want to support students in building confidence, improving exam performance, and realising that they are capable of doing well in biology with the right guidance.
I have past experience helping tutor students when I interned in a biology department
teaching 12-16 year olds doing GCSEs. I combine strong subject knowledge with clear
communication and patience, allowing me to adapt explanations to each student’s learning
style. By focusing on both understanding and exam technique, I help students make
consistent progress and achieve measurable improvements in their confidence and grades.
During this role, I took on various responsibilities which make me believe I will be successful
in tutoring students who require extra help learning biology. I interacted with students and
helped answer their questions to the best of my ability. I enjoyed learning how to best
influence young people to build a passion for science. I would lead small group tasks and
occasionally a small section of a lesson. I assisted the lab technicians to prepare equipment
for practical sessions taking place in lessons. I worked one on one with a few students
during the week that had extra learning requirements
