Teacher of mathematics for KS3, KS4 an KS5

Advert description
Mathematics is a core subject, and for good reasons, real-life applications of maths surround us all the time. Enable our students to recognise this and have the capacity and confidence to use their mathematical skills will open up many opportunities for them in the future. I embrace values which is rooted in the importance of developing effective professional relationships and recognising the value of students, parents and teachers working together closely. I believe that learning will only occur under a calm, friendly, disciplined atmosphere, in which hard work and co-operation are respected. Furthermore, I had benefited from and grateful for having excellent and passionate teachers during my study to exude a real sense of enthusiasm in learning. It is my inspiration today to pass on that passion to others.

I completed a master’s degree in engineering which helped me to have a comprehensive understanding of applied mathematics and data analysis. Further I completed PGCE to become a fully qualified teacher. During my study and work experiences, I discovered further that I could inspire and encourage individuals to understand and learn mathematics to reach their full potential; there is a great sense of achievement and joy in this for myself.
I have been teaching maths professionally for the last 4 years, mixed-ability classes and pupils from a wide range of backgrounds. This helped me to gain valuable experiences in planning and teaching practical lessons, supporting my pupils, and developing their mathematical knowledge, skills, and belief, using an increasingly varied range of engaging and purposeful teaching strategies. Throughout my lessons, I aim to give all individuals as many opportunities to develop new knowledge, practice and rehearse existing knowledge, and use effective problem-solving skills and metacognition to tackle more challenging mathematical problems.
My lessons motivate and inspire pupils because of careful planning, enthusiastic delivery, and the use of practical activities and tasks to support learning and understanding. In addition, drawing on my own worldly experience, I aim to relate the topics covered to everyday life to trigger individuals' curiosity and give a sense of purpose and value to the mathematical concepts covered.
I am available to teach all the curriculum content across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
