I am a Classical Singing Teacher with emphasis on good vocal technique, teaching beginners to advanced students.

I begin my lessons which are one-on-one, by asking certain questions about the student's aims and goals and any past history they may have had with singing. I would then ask them to sing a simple scale for me to ascertain their vocality and discuss this with them. So after discussing the things above I then start by explaining the mechanisation of the voice and the combination of the voice with breath. I explain how to breathe from the diaphragm and show exercises to improve this. A lot of the first part of the lesson is describing the way to achieve the technique. The vocal exercises are the next item which are very important for placement reasons, as how you sing your exercises, the placement remains the same in any song or aria the student would be given. I would then find the right songs or arias that would be suitable for the vocality of the student. My background in performance is also something I can pass on, so whatever the student's goals are, I am eager to contribute expertise to help to achieve their vocal and performance goals.
