Born in England, I am educated to degree level and have undergone training to teach in schools

Advert description
Having trained as a primary school teacher and worked as a driving instructor and training officer, I have many years experience of teaching. I know the latest and best methods of putting across ideas and instructions and I am a great communicator as well as a friendly and likeable personality.

A lesson will consist of a recap of work from the previous lesson followed by a summary of the day's lesson. Setting goals at the beginning, we will work at a suitable pace and use the tools and methods agreed upon with the student, to achieve them.

For example, "Last week we learnt about what it would be like to holiday at the seaside. Which verbs did we learn...?....and which nouns...? Do you remember what this is a picture of...?"

"Do you still want to learn about families? By the end of the lesson we will be able to name each others family and some friends."

At every step I will be checking for understanding, using examples and illustrations when necessary and pitching tasks and subjects at a challenging but not frustrating level.

"We will begin with who are the members of our families. I asked you last week to bring some pictures of your family... Here is a picture of my wife..."

"Next we will play a game of Happy Family using our pictures, what word could we use instead of Happy?"

At the end of each lesson we will recap what we have learned and agree on homework (that will be aimed at reinforcing what has been learnt) and the subject of the next lesson.

"Tell me 5 new words from today and 2 sentences? Which one is your favourite?"
"What would you like to learn about next week?"
