Music Tutor for all ages (Vocals, Guitar, Piano, Bass, Drums, and Music Theory)

Advert description
To Whom it May Concern

I have been working with children and teenagers for over 15 years and I absolutely adore teaching them and watching
them grow and blossom into young adults. I have worked with various musical syllabi including Rock School and
Trinity, as well as multiple school curriculum including IEB (Independent Examination Board), CAPS (Curriculum
Assessment Policy Statement) and CambriLearn over many years. I have, however, worked tirelessly on my own
musical syllabus that I am able to adapt to any and all levels of musical development.
I have a lot of experience as a working musician in South Africa as well as in Dubai and I love to incorporate stage
presence and performance into my syllabus. I have been fortunate enough to work with a school in South Africa -
Bishop Bavin School – as the musical director and vocal coach on their major productions for 3 consecutive years,
one of which included The Addams Family Musical, where I directed and coached over 120 students.
I have lead many extra-curricular activities that include drum/djembe circles, marimba bands, guitar, bass and ukulele
ensembles as well as vocal and harmony workshops.
I grew up in a very musical family and I was always surrounded by music as a child. My mother was a dancing teacher
and I have done tap and modern since the age of 3. By the time I was 14 I was assisting my dance teacher in teaching
and mentoring her students in tap and modern and I was hooked.
I studied music at COPA (Campus Of Performing Arts) in Johannesburg and got my Bachelors in music, from there I
was fortunate enough to be able to combine my love of music and my love of teaching. I started teaching at the age
of 19 and I never looked back. I taught privately for many years and would be contracted in to work on major
productions at Bishop Bavin School in Johannesburg.
As much as I enjoy helping children flourish artistically, I have a passion for teaching many different subjects.
I currently live in South Africa but I am in the UK visiting friends and family until January 2nd 2024 and I am looking
for a school where I can become a part of the family.
I believe that I have much that I can bring to your wonderful school and I strive to create a vibrant and exciting
environment with the students and teachers. I have a good work ethic and put my heart and soul into everything
that I do.
