Advert description
I have loved teaching since high school and tailor my lessons to each student's needs. I usually include a range of interactive discussions, planning sessions and feedback hours into my classroom. I love exploring theoretical concepts with my students and connecting them to real-world issues. I often employ multi-media, presentations and feedback sessions into the class.
I have tutored on courses at the University of Edinburgh, including: Introduction to Criminology, Introduction to Global Crime and Justice, Sociology of Illicit Markets and Criminal Organisations and Understanding Race and Colonialism.

I have loved teaching since high school and tailor my lessons to each student's needs. I usually include a range of interactive discussions, planning sessions and feedback hours into my classroom. I offer lessons in sociology, law, and criminology to both high school and university students, helping them connect theoretical concepts to real-world issues with a focus on critical thinking and practical application. My teaching approach is student-centered, so I often incorporate multimedia such as videos, articles and presentations to make complex sociological theories and concepts, accessible and engaging. My specialty is criminology, and I am particularly passionate about refugee studies and exploring the intersection of migration, law, and social justice. My PhD focuses on the criminalization of refugees and I have specialised understanding of the criminology of mobility. I have tutored on a range of courses at the University of Edinburgh, both in the law school and sociology department: Introduction to Criminology (in 2022), Introduction to Global Crime and Justice (in and ), Sociology of Illicit Markets and Criminal Organisations (in 2024) and Understanding Race and Colonialism (in 2025).

I emphasize critical thinking, practical application, and communication skills, including public speaking and presenting ideas effectively. Using case studies, discussions, and tailored exercises, I help students build confidence in their academic knowledge but also in articulating their thoughts clearly in group settings or formal presentations. Whether you’re exploring sociological theories, legal frameworks, or criminological perspectives, my lessons provide the tools and skills needed to excel. Available online or in person in Edinburgh.
