A maths undergraduate, with 4 years experience, offering private Maths lessons for children in Edinburgh.

I will spend the initial session getting to know the child, finding out what topics to focus on and how they learn. We will then be focusing on the problem areas and be learning through interactive tasks, building confidence in learning processes and developing study habits. I encourage lots of questions, no question is ever stupid it's how we learn! I found that during my A-levels I found that the thing that helped me most was doing practice papers and teaching other people the content, so something I like to incorporate is explaining harder concepts back to me. I also found that learning how to answer exam-style questions was a key part of acing my exams.
