Advert description
My academic background in Physiotherapy has given me extensive exposure to Biology-related subjects, particularly Human Anatomy, Physiology, Cell Biology, Genetics, Pathology and Human Health. This allows me to connect Biology concepts with practical examples from the human body and everyday life.
During my lessons, I first identify the student's current level and the areas they find difficult. I then explain the topic step by step, beginning with the basic concept before progressing to more advanced information. I use simple explanations, diagrams, flowcharts, examples and questioning techniques to make concepts easier to understand and retain.
For example, when teaching topics such as the circulatory system, nervous system, respiration or digestion, I can explain not only the structures involved but also how the different parts work together. For topics such as genetics and cell biology, I can break down complex processes into easy-to-follow stages.
I also use an interactive teaching style. Rather than simply speaking throughout the lesson, I encourage students to ask questions and participate in discussions. I can use short quizzes and practice questions during or at the end of a lesson to check understanding and identify areas that need revision.
For examination preparation, I can help students organise their syllabus, revise important concepts, practise questions and develop effective study strategies. I aim to create a comfortable learning environment where students can ask questions freely without feeling embarrassed about making mistakes.
My overall teaching philosophy is simple: understand the concept first, then learn and remember the details. I want my students to leave each lesson feeling more confident about Biology and better prepared to apply what they have learned.
