Advert description
My teaching approach focuses on making Mathematics easier to understand while helping students build confidence and achieve their academic goals. I believe every student can improve with the right guidance, consistent practice and a teaching style suited to their individual needs.
I begin by identifying the student's strengths, weaknesses and learning objectives. Whether they need help understanding difficult topics, improving their grades or preparing for examinations, I tailor my lessons to suit their abilities and pace of learning.
During lessons, I break down complex concepts into manageable steps, using clear explanations and worked examples to demonstrate different methods. I focus on helping students understand why a method works rather than simply memorising formulas. Once they understand a concept, I provide practice questions of increasing difficulty to help them apply their knowledge independently.
I encourage students to ask questions and view mistakes as opportunities to learn. By identifying errors and explaining how to correct them, I help students develop stronger problem-solving skills and become more confident when approaching unfamiliar questions.
For GCSE and A-level students, I incorporate exam-style questions to develop exam technique, accuracy and time management. I also help students recognise common question patterns and structure their working clearly to maximise marks.
Having achieved A* grades in A-level Mathematics and Further Mathematics, I have a strong academic foundation in the subject. I have also tutored over 15 students and delivered more than 100 hours of Mathematics tuition through Superprof. These experiences have taught me the importance of patience, clear communication and adapting explanations to different learning styles.
My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, challenging themselves and celebrating their progress. Ultimately, I want every student to develop a genuine understanding of Mathematics, become a more independent learner and feel confident working towards their academic goals.
