My education and career have been carried out both in the UK and in France, making me fluent in English while giving me an advantage to speak and be able to teach both languages fully. My education, career background and personal interests have been centered on biological sciences. As a doctor in plant pathology and microbiology (PhD) and an agronomist specialised in Environment protection (MScR or diplome d’ingenieur) I have gained valuable knowledge in sciences As well as a true passion for sciences and as a true scientist, I also clearly have a desire to pass on knowledge. Having taken part in numerous teaching and public engagement activities, I believe it is not only essential but also highly beneficial for our future to educate and promote sciences. I have learned how to communicate efficiently, merging difficult & often complex topics with eye catching presentations. I have many years experience in public engagement and teaching, with the creation of scientific data questionnaires, presentation of research and science to a wide variety of audiences, public outreach participation and organisation of diverse scientific events, as well as direct 1 to 1 tutoring experience (particularly all levels of French, and A levels mathematics and biology) and management of school visits with the creation of indoor and outdoor science activities for pupils (aged 5 to 17 yo). This shows my strong communication skills and good ability to adapt to various audiences (presentation awards and multiple public engagement events). As part of my education and various work position, I also have proficiency in writing projects plans and reports, which I have used for planning tutoring lessons before, using tools like Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and shared apps (Asana, shared calendar, blackboard/whiteboard online apps etc.). I really like meeting and engaging with new people, learning about their skills, passions and possible difficulties on subjects that matter to them. I am very keen to help others and love to do that through teaching, while making it fun and interesting, which I know is key to keep the motivation high.
