Hi, I'm Pheobie — a First Class Classics student at the University of Durham, due to graduate in June. With two years of online tutoring experience working with children of all ages, I take a calm, patient and focused approach to help every student build confidence and genuinely enjoy learning.
Classics captured my interest because it sits at the crossroads of so much: history, language, philosophy, archaeology and critical thinking. Latin in particular is something I find endlessly rewarding — it's deeply analytical, underpins much of the European linguistic tradition, and there's a real satisfaction in unpicking a complex text.
I offer tutoring at GCSE and A Level in Latin, Classical Civilisation, English Literature and Geography. Latin is my specialism — I particularly enjoy helping students develop confidence with the language's analytical demands, whether that's grammar, translation or unseen comprehension.
Every session is tailored to the individual, drawing on a range of resources — multimedia, worksheets, discussion and interactive exercises — to keep things dynamic and ensure real understanding. Above all, I prioritise creating a safe, welcoming space where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and growing.
I genuinely love watching my students flourish and would love to help your child do the same.
