I am a professionally trained tutor in English and 15+ years of experience of individual classes

Let me introduce myself, my name is Elena Dunn, a Russian native living in Scotland and on the pathway to gain British citizenship. I've been fascinated by languages since my schooldays and this interest was followed up at University upon where I earned a degree with distinction in teaching English and French.

I became a self employed tutor in languages and have extensive experience in delivering one-to-one lessons or small group classes. My clientele range from complete beginners to advanced students preparing to sit international exams in English such as IELTS or TOELF. I've also undertaken business English classes for corporate clients who deal with native speakers in their line of work. Over the years I have built up an extensive library of reference and teaching materials ready at hand.
In addition, I work for a international photography agency as a translator and copywriter to accurately caption photos from fields such as news, sports and entertainment. The agency develops software to assist picture database management and here I translate marketing material and user guides for this venture as well as developing taxometry coding.

For several years I was employed in the tourist industry in St Petersburg accomodating international tourists and this exposure to varied native and non-native speakers allowed me to develop and practice my speaking and writing skills.
Finally I should add my husband of nine years is a native British citizen, who has innumerably helped me to hone my English language skills.
