Math Tutor for students in 4th year of high school or above

I am currently a 4th year pure mathematics student at the University of St Andrews - specialising in linear and abstract algebra, category theory, and abstract calculus.

My teaching preference is in-person, but can also do online teaching.

I have often tutored peers since high school and now at university. Most of these students were given a predicted grade of C for their final exams by their schools, and all of them scored As.

During teaching, I try to increase a students understanding of fundamental concepts before moving on to more abstract and difficult topics. This ensures the student has a solid grasp of mathematics at a basic level and allows them to learn the harder topics more easily. This also allows a more intuitive teaching approach, since the student will gain the ability to use the most essential tools in maths, and then be able to apply these with their own skill. As a pure maths student, I put a larger emphasis on logical thinking and problem solving, rather than memorisation of procedures.

The exams I have sat for mathematics are: National 5, Higher, Advanced Higher, SAT, SAT level 2 (not including my courses at university). I am familiar especially with the above exams and course materials, however can also teach all GCSE and A level materials, and university level algebra and calculus.
