As a TESOL tutor, I teach English as a second language to students of various ages and proficiency levels as I progressively gain insight into their linguistic challenges and needs. Depending on learners’ proficiency, I incorporate a variety of teaching strategies, including communicative language teaching (CLT), task-based language teaching techniques, the Dogme approach, etc., in my lessons. I tailor my lesson materials and strategies to suit learners’ needs. I encourage active learners’ involvement through engaging activities, feedback and assessments, role-play activities, student-led presentations, and debates. I also incorporate real-life objects that learners can easily relate to (realia), trending topics, new case studies, and current world events to keep my lesson content up-to-date and relevant. Through this, learners can connect their learning experiences in the classroom to the world around them.
