In the first year of my PGCE my placement was teaching adults at level 1 as one of four in a trainee group at an inner London FE college. In my second year I had two placements, the first at level 1, GCSE Foundation and Higher. The second placement was at AS and A level with some support and observation in a maths foundation course for engineering students.
At the first placement of my second year my role in an evening class for adults was to stretch and challenge a small group who were considered good enough to attempt the GCSE higher paper.
In the summer of 2019 a 4- day course entitled 'New to teaching A level mathematics' in York. Since April 2021 I have been tutoring mathematics online as part of the NTP (National Tutoring Programme). Most of this has been working in English at KS3 and KS4 but some has been at KS2 (Primary level). Since January 2023 I have been tutoring maths online for The Home School Academy and 1st class tuition. I have been able to gain further experience supporting students preparing for GCSE Foundation and Higher and to extend this experience to work with A Level students who are also preparing themselves for their exam.
I particularly enjoy accompanying learners as they progress from Foundation to Higher.
I firmly believe that education holds the key to Inclusion, Equality and Diversity.
My hobbies are Music, Sailing and Gardening.
