Advert description
I have worked in construction for many years at high level and have achieved the Licentiateship of the City and Guilds (LCGI) I have a Diploma in Teaching and Lifelong Learning Skills from Canterbury University and L6 Leadership from Brighton University along with trade qualifications .
I was asked to come into teaching 18 years ago and am now passing on these attributes to help young people achieve their goals in life . I have excellent interpersonal skills and can use negotiation skills and influencing strategies to achieve results.
I am keen to make a real difference to young lives and help them to realise their true potential.
In my last role as Director of Education at Harris Professional Skills Sixth Form, we had many students from disadvantaged backgrounds, that have had a poor experience of education, without getting the help they really required.
I worked with them, gave them the support and encouragement required ,in the classroom and workshops so they had all the right tools to achieve. I helped with CV writing, applying for work/apprenticeships, interview techniques . This gave them the confidence to be able move on into employment and start their own career journey.
Education is sometimes hard for young people to accept . But with the right support and life skills anything is possible.
