Engaging with learners in their creative practice is something I am deeply passionate about. I believe that art and creativity are accessible to everyone, given the right encouragement and approach. My teaching practice is rooted in a learner-centred ethos, adapting naturally to the needs of individuals and groups. Having taught in FE, HE and delivered workshops for the public, I know that no two learners are alike, and I enjoy finding different pathways to the same outcome so that each person feels included, supported and challenged.
I aim to inspire learners not only to create but also to reflect and analyse the world around them with curiosity and critical thought. My teaching is informed by continuous professional development and a willingness to keep my practice experimental and responsive. I thrive in environments where a holistic curriculum can be shaped to meet students’ needs, offering them both technical skills and the space to explore their own passions.
Through my experience working in schools, community workshops, colleges and universities , I have seen the positive impact creative education can have across different contexts and backgrounds. For me, the joy of teaching lies in helping learners discover what matters to them and guiding them in bringing their ideas to life. Supporting that process, and witnessing the sense of confidence and well-being it brings, is at the heart of my role as an art tutor.
