Advert description
My name is Katja. I am fluent in Slovenian, Spanish, English, and Italian. Currently, I am living in Alcalá de Henares, a lovely city near Madrid. I have been living here for 3 years. I have a master’s degree in Hispanic Philology. I have a deep passion for Spain and Latin America’s countries, cultures, and people. I am a Ph.D. candidate in Literary Studies at the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at the University of Ljubljana. For the past three years, I have been teaching Spanish language courses to beginner and intermediate-level students at the University of Maribor, delivering them remotely through the Microsoft Teams online platform. Additionally, I work as an online tutor.
I had the opportunity to enhance my knowledge and skills by attending courses at prestigious universities such as the University of Córdoba, the Autonomous University of Madrid, and the Complutense University of Madrid. Additionally, I gained valuable work experience in various offices while immersing myself in the vibrant culture of Spain, known for its iconic symbols like Don Quixote, flamenco, and paella. In 2018, I volunteered in Italy, teaching Spanish and English to a small group of children while living with an Italian family.
As an experienced teacher, I am mindful of the difficulties that students may face. Therefore, I present the material clearly and distinctly, and I am always available to answer any questions. My approach to teaching is customized to each student's needs, as I understand that every learner requires a different approach and learning style. I develop a tailored lesson plan for each student, which I adapt and adjust as necessary based on their progress and success.
I strive to make the learning process engaging and enjoyable, as I understand that learning a new language can be challenging, especially in the early stages. I am patient and straightforward, and I always endeavor to help my students overcome any difficulties, so they can feel comfortable using a foreign language as soon as possible. I motivate and inspire my students to learn, encouraging them every step of the way. Additionally, I like to add cultural insights to my lessons, making them even more engaging and enjoyable.
