English was my first language in South Africa and was my favourite subject in school. I have the patience and love to teach

Advert description
I like like my lessons to be fun for my students so they can learn and enjoy the classes at the same time. I teach both adults and children and have done voluntary and also home visits to to teach. I like meeting different people from all over the world and learn their culture as well. I travelled extensively so I am used to meeting different people and learning about their cultures. I use various materials to teach besides text books, example magazines, and newspapers with current news and subjects that most people are familiar with. If I am teaching face to face I would like to take my students out on excursions and shopping whilst learning at the same time. Online teaching would be just as exciting with lots of material , like photos and pictures to keep the students interested. I used to teach my au pairs from different counties who used to come without speaking any English and when they go back home their English is excellent. i just love teaching.
Debbie McCauley in a nutshell
As mentioned earlier I had au-pairs from many different countries . When they arrived to the UK their spoken English was very minimal or almost to just a few words. As mentioned earlier I had au-pairs from many different countries . When they arrived to the UK their spoken English was very minimal or almost to just a few words. I had an au pair from Hungary who cam from a village so hardly understood a word in English, I used to take her out and point out objects to her and name them. She used to make notes of everything she found interesting and when we returned home we used to discuss everything she found interesting and make words and sentences , so she learnt spelling and grammar at the same time. I also literally took her around the house and pointed out objects and example bed, table all the different cutlery and crockery. She found it very interesting to learn by looking at objects than just reading from text books. I also taught English as a second language where I helped mothers at home who could not go out because their English was minimal and they could not communicate with children's teacher and were shy to go to their GP without taking someone with them to translate. I like to do a lot of play acting when teaching as it makes the lessons exciting even if it is just the two of us.
