Advert description
My approach to tutoring is student-centred, supportive, and results-focused. I tailor each lesson to the learner’s age, level, and learning style to ensure concepts are clearly understood and confidently applied.
Teaching techniques & methodology:
I use a mix of interactive teaching methods, including guided questioning, visual explanations, real-life examples, and exam-focused practice. For younger learners (junior/KS1–KS2), I use simple language, diagrams, games, and short activities to keep lessons engaging. For KS3–KS4 students, lessons are more structured, focusing on curriculum objectives, key biological concepts, scientific vocabulary, and exam-style questions. I regularly assess understanding through quizzes, discussions, and homework feedback, adjusting my teaching pace as needed.
Lesson structure & length:
A typical lesson lasts 1 hour, though this may vary depending on the student’s needs and concentration level. Each lesson usually includes a recap of previous learning, introduction of new content, guided practice, and a short summary to reinforce understanding.
Qualifications & experience:
I hold a BSc in Biology Education and have 4 years of tutoring experience, teaching biology across different ability levels. This background allows me to explain complex topics in a clear, age-appropriate way while building strong foundational knowledge.
