In the first class, I try to understand the level of English that my student has and then I continue with the planning. Considering that students might have different needs, I find materials that are appropriate to their level, age or interests. I always take into consideration the learning needs and what my students like or prefer. I try to adapt to their learning style. I always combine the reading, listening, speaking and writing competencies. My classes start with speaking and I try to find interesting topics in order to grab my students 'attention.
In order to help students enrich their vocabulary, I find reading materials and help them with the meaning of the new words by explaining them with other words in English. Then, I can ask questions related to the text because this will help students with speaking and material comprehension at the same time. Next, I explain grammar issues based on the level of their English. After the explanation, I ask my student to complete some exercises. In this way I understand if everything is clear.
I also use listening materials to help students develop their listening skills. The materials that I choose vary based on the student's needs, level and interest. I use written materials, videos, flashcards and pictures in my classes. In my opinion, these are attractive ways that help students learn or improve English in a funny and interesting way.
To conclude, I can add that I am an energetic person that really likes teaching and I always try to transmit positive energy to my students.
