My teaching experience includes about 15 years in the U.K. at universities (EAP and ESP for undergrads and post-grads) and private language schools for adults; eight years at private schools for adults in Portugal; one year in Rome, Italy (at a secretarial institute); eight years in Germany (at a secretarial institute, further education centres and many companies); eight years in Florida (at private schools for adults) eleven years in central Japan (to adults - at businesses, at a language institute, at Nihon University, online and in small groups).

I am imaginative, flexible and VERY patient. I smile a lot, and listen carefully.
1. I start by listening to the student's / students' English and his/her/their needs and goals, to get a picture so that I can build a programme especially for that student / those students.
2. We agree on certain areas that need improvement, and the skills that need practice.
3. I like to give students a series of milestones and stages so they can see their progress.
I can teach grammar, vocabulary and reading skills, writing, listening comprehension, presentation skills and public speaking.
