Maths and science tutor for GCSE and A Level

I have a Ph.D in physics and philosophy and 4+ years of tutoring experience at GCSE and A Level with 10+ students.

My lessons are online, and adaptable to each student. I suggest we begin by getting to know each other and a little discussion about your current grades, target grades, hopes for the future... once we have developed this basis we can begin to build a unique tutoring plan tailored to your needs. At the beginning of each lesson I usually ask whether you have anything you want to work on, if not I will suggest a topic. We then go through the textbook theory together to ensure you understand the basics and then practice some exam-style questions on the topic, first together, and then hopefully independently if you have understood well by the end of the lesson. Usually I give my students homework, but this is at the request of the student/ parent/ carer, I will not enforce additional work on you if you or your parent/ carer do not want it.

My lessons are a minimum of one hour long as I believe this length is necessary to cover all material, and I would suggest meeting at minimum once per week. I approach tutoring in a friendly, open, patient way, and hope to make our lessons fun and engaging, not simply a chore. I tend to use the whiteboard feature to ensure collaborative work and often propose worksheets that for us to complete together.

I offer tutoring at GCSE and A Level in a range of subjects including:

Additionally I offer university-level tutoring in both physics and philosophy.

I am also available for university application coaching sessions for both undergraduate and postgraduate applications. During these sessions we will build together your personal statement/ CV/ research proposal or any other application documents you may require. This service is available for UK undergraduate applications and both UK and international postgraduate applications.
