About Me
I am a native Greek speaker with a BA in Greek Language and Literature (University of Crete, Greece) and an MA in Language Studies (Lancaster University, UK). With over 15 years of teaching experience, I have worked with students of all ages and levels, both in Greece and the UK. Since relocating to the UK eight years ago, I have specialised in teaching Greek as a Foreign or Second Language to adults and children in a variety of educational settings.

Currently, I serve as the Headteacher at the Brighton Greek School, where I oversee curriculum development and teach both children and adults. I also run my own private tuition centre, offering one-to-one and group lessons—both online and in person.

My teaching approach is student-centred, communicative, and highly adaptable. I structure each lesson around the learner’s needs and goals, focusing on the four key language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. I place strong emphasis on real-life communication, interaction, and immersion in the Greek language. I incorporate a wide range of materials—including authentic texts, multimedia resources, and grammar-focused activities—to make learning engaging and effective.

I speak Greek as much as possible, even with complete beginners
I tailor lesson plans to suit each learner’s pace and preferences
I provide clear goals, regular feedback, and support to help students progress
I create a warm and encouraging environment to boost learner confidence
My Philosophy
Language learning is a dynamic and experiential process for both teacher and student. I believe in building a strong rapport with my learners, listening to their feedback, and making each lesson a meaningful and enjoyable experience.
