I'm an (early) retired Finance Director, a Chartered Certified Accountant with an MBA from Durham University. Durham is an excellent University, ranked 3rd in the UK, 5th in Europe and 10th globally. My strengths in addition to my extensive career experience and academic acreditations, is that I am skilled at explaining complex accounting, finance and economic concepts in an easy to understand, practical way to non-finance people. The first session would be a "get to know each other" session to understand specific areas where support is needed. I will draw up a study plan to lead up to revision, mocks and final exams, as required, to be shared and agreed with you before starting the structured learning sessions. This will ensure maximum benefit from the lessons. I can also offer bespoke laminated memory flash cards and mind maps for that "last minute or on the go revision refresher and additional lessons for revision support or elements of a subject that "you just can’t get". With my extensive practical experience in the field of accounting, finance and economics, I will get candidates over the mental blockers and inspire confidence in exam success with the application real life examples to theory. My teaching technique will embed subject elements into memory for recollection in an exam setting and beyond. I have some excellent revision techniques, invaluable for the run up to the exams I would be delighted to share. To me, every pupil is individual, and my approach is to take a bespoke approach to those individual needs.
