I have a TEFL certificate and have over a year of experience working in schools as a language teacher.

Since I have worked with a variety of ages, I am an accommodating tutor willing to adapt to specific student needs. I also provide students with extra material based on covered classwork so that it’s possible to practise outside of class.

In terms of my teaching style, I usually take a laidback approach. I like to get to know my students over time and usually start by asking about their hobbies. For me, it’s important to build a close bond so that my student feels at ease. I encourage my students to ask questions if we ever come across tricky topics. I believe that my students should have control in our lessons because it will enhance their progress and confidence.

Last year I taught a range of age groups in a private language school in Mexico, which helped me to become more flexible during lessons and at times forced me to think on my feet - a key teaching quality in my opinion. I am currently teaching in a school in Poland. Here, I teach individual classes and groups, online and at school. Whether it be through playing interactive games with children or getting into relevant debates with adults, I make my lessons as engaging as possible, with some humour throughout.

Although I only started private tutoring more recently (in January 2025), I have really enjoyed it so far. I have a current student working towards their GCSE English Literature and Language exams. Therefore, I am familiar with AQA’s syllabus. In particular, I can assist with poetry (unseen and seen). However, I am more than happy to familiarise myself with different exam boards in order to help.

On top of English tutoring, I also have a BA in Classics. As a result, I am confident in helping out with Latin and Ancient Greek up to GCSE level. I’m particularly passionate about Epic Poetry and Greek/Roman Mythology.
