Advert description
Hi, I’m Umar – a dedicated and approachable tutor, and a First year Engineer at Sidney Sussex College, University of Cambridge. I’ve completed my A-Levels at King Edward VI Grammar School in Chelmsford with top grades (A*s in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Electronics, and Extended Project Qualification), and twelve Grade 9s at GCSE.
• Techniques and Teaching Methodology
As a recent student who has taken all the qualifications I offer support in, my teaching approach is grounded in first-hand experience of the exam content, common pitfalls, and effective learning strategies. I understand the pressures students face and aim to be both relatable and approachable — whether a student is struggling or seeking to push beyond the syllabus. I've researched evidence-based learning methods and structure my lessons around active recall, frequent use of past paper questions, targeted flashcards, and spaced repetition. I adapt to each student’s pace and learning style, ensuring every session is productive and focused.
