Experience: Academic tutor at my secondary school tutoring students in A Levels on science subjects (chemistry, biology, and physics) after school, twice a week. Prefect, working in multi-disciplinary teams consisting of students across multiple age groups to develop, plan, organise, and execute fundraiser and student/school community morale events. As well as maintaining the upholding of school policies and be an outlet for student outreach for support and guidance. My teaching method would consist of first teaching and ensuring understanding of the content; the details and how different aspects work together. I would then test this understanding through questioning closely related to the format it would be given in the exam. Finally, I would highlight areas of improvement and questions that were answered incorrectly to identify areas that require further teaching and facilitating before addressing them and re-testing to gain an improved result. Ultimately, the aim of my teaching is to not only equip students with a complete understanding of the subject area but to enable them to correctly answer them in the exams. Teaching them how to answer the different types of questions that may come up to maximise their ability to gain marks.
