Advert description
I’m an experienced A-Level Psychology teacher, examiner and private tutor, currently teaching Psychology in Further Education. I have experience both in the classroom and working one-to-one with students, so lessons can be completely tailored to your individual needs.
As an examiner, I have a strong understanding of mark schemes, assessment objectives and what examiners are looking for. I can help you understand not only the Psychology, but how to turn that knowledge into marks.
Before teaching, I worked with adults with a range of mental health conditions, learning disabilities and addiction, and I also have training in counselling. This gives me practical experience of many of the topics covered in Psychology, particularly psychological therapies, mental health and addiction.
I can help with AS and A2 Psychology, including:
AO1, AO2 and AO3
Essay planning and evaluation
Exam technique and understanding questions
Research methods and statistics
Psychological therapies
Revision and exam preparation
Reviewing answers and identifying where marks are being gained or lost
Breaking difficult topics into straightforward, manageable explanations
My lessons are friendly, relaxed and supportive. I'm used to teaching students with different abilities and learning needs, and there is absolutely no problem going back to basics if something hasn't clicked.
Sessions aren't about me simply talking at you for an hour. We can work through difficult concepts together, practise exam questions, plan essays, review your previous work or concentrate on the areas where you're currently losing marks.
My aim is to help you understand Psychology, feel confident with it and know exactly how to demonstrate your knowledge in an exam.
Ideal for WJEC AS/A2 Psychology students who want to improve their understanding, exam technique and grades.
