Virtual Elementary Math and Music Tutor for grades 1-8

I received an Early Childhood Education Diploma in 2020 before I became a preschool teacher. I have also been tutoring children in a multitude of subjects for 2 years.

In my experience children learn differently and require an attentive teacher to recognize their strengths and weaknesses in order to teach them to succeed.
Students also need to understand why they are learning the curriculum so they can appreciate the learning process.
To me being a teacher does not mean helping a student obtain a passing grade but a want to continue to learn new things; especially when it is difficult.

Before any lessons I appreciate the opportunity to speak with you and your child (free of charge) to understand what you both hope to get from tutoring sessions and also to get acquainted. It is important that my students feel comfortable speaking freely with me, especially if they are not comfortable with the current subject we are working on.

A typical lesson would begin by identifying any current struggles with the subject and working with the student to develop a short term goal for the lesson and a longer term goal for them to work on over a series of lessons/on their own time.

My goal is to put the opportunity of learning in the hands of the child and for them to take responsibility for their success in school.
