Advert description
Hiya! I'm Charlotte, I'm 23 and have a Masters' degree in Physics, having graduated from Cardiff University in 2022. I have been tutoring maths and physics since my final year at uni, so I'm in my second year of teaching. Over the past two years I have had 8 students, which I juggled between working another job at a local charity for elderly people in Gloucestershire. Now I'm focussing primarily on tutoring until I can jump start a career as a Maths and Physics researcher.
My lessons, whether online or in person, can be highly tailored to how you learn best:
For my remote lessons, I tend to use PowerPoint slides and screen share via Microsoft Teams. We can start with some theory and qualitative teaching, where I will talk about and explain key principles, then tackle some practise questions on the topic in the latter half of the lessons. Or we can jump straight in to answering questions together, which I would recommend. I'm a firm believer that with maths and any science-y subject practise makes perfect, so past paper questions are the perfect tool. And, it's much clearer to learn from any mistakes this way.
With my in person lessons, I would recommend simply question and answer style teaching, where I prepare question materials, and we work through these together.
For my students who are in their exam sitting years, I also give the option to message me on WhatsApp outside of lesson hours with any questions they have or anything they're stuck on. I would respond to these messages by answering their questions using pen and paper, and sending photos of my workings.
