Hi there! I am Marcus. I come from Hong Kong and have lived in the UK now for more than 2 years.

I provide grammar, sentence structure, reading, listening, and speaking practice classes for all levels of Cantonese learners or those who are interested in Cantonese language.

I was born and raised in Hong Kong for more than 20 years, so I speak native Hong Kong Cantonese. Language learning is my hobby, I believe that learning should be a fun and exciting process, instead of a stressful "mission". Also, Hong Kong is a vibrant place while Cantonese is a very interesting language among various Chinese languages. Therefore, I am passionate about promoting my mother tongue to foreigners.

I can also speak fluent English and Japanese, and fair-level Mandarin. Moreover, with a Master's degree in Linguistics from the SOAS, University of London, I am competent at understanding the detailed structures and mechanisms behind languages, hence helping learners to get more familiar with their stages and what they are learning.

I keep learning new languages and I got some experience in Japanese teaching too, so I understand what is the hardest part of language learning and how can you overcome those "walls" during the learning process.

In my class, I will help you level up your Cantonese level to get one more step closer to a native speaker, including ways to effectively memorize the grammar and Chinese characters. The style of my classes could go for any topic or any content you want to know!
