Experienced Tutor and Life Coach with speciality in English, ADHD/Neurodivergence friendly

I attained a First Class Hons in English from Bristol University in 2022. Throughout my school years I also managed to achieve the highest grade in my school for English, as well a Prize for Spanish. At primary school however, I struggled intensely and believed I was no good academically. I have ADHD, and my whole education experience has been about the search for natural ways to manage the symptoms, whilst also enjoying my studies and not letting them drastically impact my mental health. It's been a journey to say the least! Ultimately, the main ingredient which made my success possible was by nurturing a love for my subject which went beyond solely identifying with it as a grade which defined me. I believe that drastic shifts are needed in our education system to allow us to reach our full potential - and this we can begin to achieve by shifting our perspective on our educational experiences, and nurturing ways to maintain the work/life balance. I passionately believe that reconfiguring our relationship with 'academic success' is itself the key to academic success! We shouldn't be battling ourselves so intensely. We shouldn't believe that all our worth as humans is dependent upon what grade we come out with. What we want ultimately, is to reach our full potential. And when that is our intention, the higher grades come and we become more well-rounded people. I completely pledge myself to help you be the best you can be, and achieve the best results you possibly can not just in school but in all areas of life. I take a very personal, tailored approach to each of my students, taking time to get to know you and your personal struggles so that together we can work out the best and healthiest strategies to move forward. I am able to offer coaching for general strategies to cope in an academic environment, or offer a more subject-specific approach. The subject areas I am able to coach/tutor in are: English (up to A-level or equivalent), Spanish (up to GCSE), History (GCSE), Theatre/Acting (A-Level), Religious Studies/Philosophy (GCSE).
